The University of Wisconsin Green Bay German Club, as indicated in its mission statement, exists to expose the community of UW- Green Bay to the German language and German culture. There are many fun and exciting programs run by German Club members each year. Many of these programs and events are organized in conjunction with the German Department at the University. Below you will find a list highlighting some notable German Club events and meetings.

Stammtisch

German Club members meet weekly to discuss aspects of German Culture, improve language skills, and to plan German Club events (they also have a LOT of fun). Stammtisch is held weekly from 8-10 PM in the University Union Heritage Room. Feel free to come for as long as you would like for these awesome weekly meetings!

Christkindle Market Trip

When: December 4th-5th Leaves 11 a.m.; Studio Arts Parking Lot

German Club sponsors a trip to Chicago to the Christkindle Market! Here you can visit booths with trinkets and food from all over the world. For only $40 we offer a bus, an overnight stay and two full days in Chicago. The Market is very central and from there famous sites such as the “Bean”, Millennium Park and the “Sears Tower” are only a stone’s throw away!

German Day

This year German Club and the UWGB German Language Department will hold a large one day event known as German Day. This event involves hundreds of local high school German students participating in various competitions (e.g., spelling bee, poetry declamation, music videos, etc.). All the events and games are run and created by German Club students.

Grillfest

To conclude each year German Club holds a free cookout for all who wish to attend. There are usually free burgers, brats, hot dogs, and soda. Attendees may be asked to R.S.V.P, so check back often for updates!
